Let’s have a new mindset about Valentine’s Day this year, because it's time we show some love to the ones who love you the best: animals. And an added plus is that they don’t even need all the candles or chocolates, all they want is you… and treats.
Ditch the Date & Grab a Leash
For starters, a pup and a leash are calling your name! You could easily have a planned first date with a furry friend who will love you no matter what. The best part? They won’t ghost you!
Maybe you could have a fancy picnic at a park that will be a thousand times more fun than a fancy dinner date. A trip to the pet store might be the perfect stop to spoil your doggy date with some cute V-day treats and goodies. If you just want to take them home for a couple hours to Netflix and chill, go for it! No one is going to judge you if you had a Galentine’s Day party with the girls and Lady on Samford Lawn.
The Purr-fect Company
If cats are more your vibe to cure the Valentine blues, cat companions is for you! You can go to the shelter and just chill with a kitty that adores you (...or silently judges you, wanting all the pets).. Don’t worry, there probably won’t be much talking so you don’t have to be nervous for this kind of date! Nothing says “true love” quite like when a cat decides that you have been worthy of their affection.
Grab Your Girls and Volunteer at the Shelter!
Instead of brunch with the besties, spend Galentine’s volunteering at the shelter! There are so many different things you and your girlies could do while volunteering. You can help out with the cleaning, monitor the cutest puppy playgroups, relax with the cats, or go on walks with different dogs to help them get some exercise.
